Abstract

Background and Aim: Given the importance of the topic of gamification outcomes and the numerous related studies in both domestic and foreign journals, this study aimed to examine the Gamification Antecedents using meta-analysis techniques, drawing on the results of previous research.

Methods: The current research is descriptive in terms of its purpose, and in terms of the type of practical use and in terms of the type of data, it is a quantitative research. The statistical population of the research included domestic (1399-1402) and foreign (2023-2024) articles, of which 10 cases were included in the meta-analysis process using a non-random purposeful sampling method. The selected studies were analyzed using CMA2 software (comprehensive meta-analysis software).

Results: Among the outcomes of gamification, out of the four effect sizes examined, three have effect sizes greater than 0.5, indicating a high level of impact. Additionally, five effect sizes fall within the range of 0.3 to 0.5, reflecting a moderate level of impact. Furthermore, the combined fixed and random effect size from the meta-analysis of gamification outcomes was found to be 0.445.

Conclusion: Implementing effective changes in variables with high effect sizes can lead to a balance in the outcomes of gamification.
