Abstract
Background and Aim :Considering the increasing role of innovation and the expansion of knowledge-based organizations, whose competitive advantage is based on innovation and the creation of new products and services, and also considering the tremendous impact that social capital has on promoting group and organizational innovation, the necessity of acquiring and promoting social capital in knowledge-based organizations is essential and important.In this study, the relationship between social capital and perfectionism with the mediating role of organizational innovation in the form of a causal model was examined.
Method:The statistical population includes all the educational staff of Bojnourd city with 4903 people who according to the Cochran's formula 356 people were selected by Non-probability sampling method available. The research tools were three social capital questionnaires, Nahapet and Goshal (1998), The Perfectionism of Hill et al. (2004) and Organizational Innovation of Amid et al. (2007). The validity of the questionnaires was formal and content, which was approved by the professors in the field of management, and their reliability was estimated through Cronbach's alpha (0.82, (0.77) and (0.78), respectively). To analyze the findings, descriptive and inferential statistics were used with the help of statistical software spss22 and AMOS16 software were used to evaluate validity and reliability and confirm factor analysis and structural equation modeling method was used to analyze hypotheses. Mediator variables were used.
Results:The findings showed that, according to the bootstrap decision diagram, the last step is to test the direct path between social capital and perfectionism in the model with the effect of the mediating variable of organizational innovation. For this purpose, it is concluded that the path between social capital and perfectionism is positive and significant with 95% confidence. Adaptive perfectionism leads to increased innovation.
Conclusion:Based on the results, it can be argued that the more employees have the tendency and motivation to do hard work and are motivated with the goal of success, and while emphasizing high performance standards, they can understand the external realities and the limitations. accept, they can achieve their goals more innovatively and creatively.
