Abstract

Background and Aim: Today, empowerment and job satisfaction are considered key factors in organizational growth. The creation, maintenance, and enhancement of these two fundamental components, which provide greater responsibility, independence, and a sense of control among employees and faculty members, have always attracted researchers in this field. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the impact of media literacy on the empowerment and job satisfaction of employees and faculty members at Ardabil Farhangian University.

Methods: This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of methodology. The statistical population consisted of all employees and faculty members of Ardabil Farhangian University, totaling 211 individuals. To reduce bias, simple random sampling was used, and the sample size was determined to be 133 based on Morgan’s table. Data were collected through fieldwork using standardized questionnaires for media literacy (reliability = 0.83), empowerment (reliability = 0.91), and job satisfaction (reliability = 0.77). Data analysis was performed using SPSS software with multiple regression tests.

Results: The results indicate that the variable “media usage” predicts empowerment with the lowest effect (BETA = 0.27), “media perception” (BETA = 0.33), and “media assistance” has the highest effect (BETA = 0.57). Additionally, “media usage” predicts job satisfaction with the highest effect (BETA = 0.65), “media perception” (BETA = 0.42), and “media assistance” with the lowest effect (BETA = 0.29).

Conclusion: According to the findings, media literacy, by providing grounds for career growth and better performance, can lead to increased empowerment and job satisfaction.
