Abstract
Shaping green employees is a source of sustainable competitive advantage for organizations. However, previous studies have not considered the ethical aspects of employees' green behavior, so the mechanism of employees' moral psychology, especially the important effect of moral emotions on the ethical aspects of employees' green behavior, has been ignored. Based on the theory of emotional events, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of organizational social responsibility characteristics on the green behavior of teachers in Shahinshahr city through organizational pride and environmental climate. The present study was applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive correlational in terms of the method of data collection. The statistical population of the present study consisted of all teachers in Shahinshahr city, 1000 people, of whom 277 people were selected as a sample through the Cochran formula through the stratified sampling method proportional to the volume. The research instruments were Shi's (2008) Organizational Social Responsibility Characteristics Questionnaire, Bissing-Olson et al.'s (2013) Teachers' Green Behavior Questionnaire, Zhao's (2017) Organizational Pride Questionnaire, and Wang and Peng's (2018) Environmental Climate Questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaires was examined based on content, face, and construct validity, and after the necessary terms, the validity was confirmed. On the other hand, the reliability of the questionnaires was estimated by Cronbach's alpha method as 0.88, 0.77, 0.75, and 0.77, respectively. Data analysis was performed at two descriptive and inferential levels, including structural equation modeling. The results of the structural equation analysis showed that the positive effect of organizational social responsibility characteristics required that employees' green behavior and organizational pride played a mediating role in the relationship between them.In addition, environmental climate had a negative moderating effect on the effect of organizational pride on employees' green behavior. These results expanded the theoretical scope of teachers' green behavior from the perspective of moral emotions. In practice, the results provided a moral motivation for cultivating employees' ecological literacy and stimulating employees' green behavior, as well as management strategies for organizational environmental protection performance and green sustainable development
